不过，滕哈赫否认了这一传闻。他表示：“比赛结束后我还在更衣室里看到了他，所以他并没有在中场休息时就离开球场。”
“我之所以换下他，是因为当时我们0-2落后像利物浦这样的对手。凭借他们的能力，他们是非常出色的。我们必须要冒险，这是因为我们希望能卷土重来。因此，你需要中场球员来覆盖那个区域，所以我们才换上了科利尔。”
